We offer customizable Couples Therapy intensives.
The traditional model of weekly psychotherapy is shifting to meet your needs. Now more than ever, we need flexibility in how we get support to heal.
Couples Therapy intensives are personalized treatment plans that are designed to support your preferred schedule and timeline for your coupleship.
Couples Therapy intensives offer the benefits of 6-12 months of weekly therapy in a matter of days.
Our Couples Therapy intensives incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Imago Relationship Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, and other creative, body based practices to enhance your treatment experience.
An Important Note: Couples Therapy intensives are not just for troubled relationships; they are also used for intimacy and coupleship enhancement.

Couples Healing Retreat & Intensive FAQ
-
A couples retreat (also called a couples intensive) is a focused, private therapy experience designed to help partners heal, reconnect, and strengthen their relationship. Instead of weekly sessions stretched out over months, intensives provide several hours of therapy each day over 2–5 consecutive days. This format allows couples to make meaningful progress more quickly, especially around long-standing challenges.
-
Weekly therapy can be helpful but often feels too slow when you’re in pain or stuck in repeating patterns. In a couples intensive, you’ll spend extended, uninterrupted time together working through the root causes of conflict, rebuilding trust, and practicing new ways of connecting. Many couples find that a 3–5 day intensive is as effective as months of weekly sessions.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence based psychotherapy technique developed by Francine Shapiro to help individuals cope with and overcome the emotional distress and symptoms associated with traumatic experiences. EMDR is particularly effective for individuals who have experienced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Complex PTSD (CPTSD), other trauma-related conditions. EMDR addresses the psychological and physical symptoms stemming from adverse life experiences. However, EMDR is not just for trauma and can be used with couples in a modified approach to help create new pathways for connection and emotional intimacy.
Overall EMDR is used to help people who are dealing with present day symptoms and challenges that might be related to experiences in the past. Learn more about the EMDR Phases here.
-
IFS-Informed EMDR is an integrative approach that combines Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR, to help clients heal from the symptoms and emotional distress from trauma and past stressful events. These modalities provide a compassionate, non-judgmental way to understand blocks, defenses, and stuck things in your life or your coupleship.
